Commission for Youth
Youth Ministry is an important pastoral ministry of the Church dedicated to accompanying young people in their journey of faith and helping them discover their vocation and mission in the Church and society. Representatives of the youth from the family units of each parish become members of the Youth Commission. Youth Ministry seeks to create opportunities for young people to encounter Christ through prayer, the Sacraments, Scripture, catechesis, retreats, fellowship, leadership formation, service, and evangelization. It encourages young people to take leadership role in parish activities through youth gatherings, formation programs, social outreach, vocation promotion, and leadership development. Youth Ministry helps the Church listen to young people, accompany them, and empower them to use their gifts in building the Kingdom of God.

Kerala Catholic Youth Movement
KCYM is the official Catholic youth movement in Kerala, functioning under the Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council. The Kerala Catholic youth movements began developing at diocesan and parish levels during the late 1970s, and the state-level KCYM was formally organized in 1978. KCYM seeks the integral development of Catholic youth and their active participation in the mission of the Church. It promotes spiritual formation, leadership training, cultural activities, social service, youth camps, sports, vocation awareness, and programs addressing social issues. It encourages young people to become responsible Christian leaders and agents of positive change, witnessing to Gospel values and serving the poor, marginalized, and wider society.

Jesus Youth
Jesus Youth is an international Catholic movement that originated in Kerala in the context of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal that reached India during the mid-1970s. Various youth prayer groups and communities emerged as young Catholics experienced a renewed encounter with Jesus Christ and the Gospel. These groups gradually became connected, and in 1985 they gathered for a major conference called “Jesus Youth ’85,” through which the movement received the name Jesus Youth. Jesus Youth seeks to help young people live a personal relationship with Christ and become missionary disciples in everyday life. Its spirituality is built around six pillars: prayer, the Word of God, the Sacraments, fellowship, evangelization, and an option for the poor. The movement works through prayer groups, small communities, campus and workplace ministries, family and parish activities, retreats, formation programs, music, social outreach, and missionary initiatives. From Kerala, the movement gradually spread through migration and mission to many parts of India and the world. It received canonical recognition from the Holy See in 2016 and today serves the Church as a missionary movement, helping young people carry the Gospel into universities, workplaces, families, parishes, and society.
Christian Life Community
CLC is a worldwide lay Catholic community rooted in the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the tradition of the Spiritual Exercises. Its origins go back to 1563, when the Jesuit Father John Leunis gathered young lay students at the Roman College in Rome to help them integrate their studies, relationships, work, and daily lives with Christian faith. This group developed into the Sodality of Our Lady, which received papal approval from Pope Gregory XIII in 1584. Following the renewal encouraged by the Second Vatican Council, the movement rediscovered its original character as a community of lay people seeking to unite faith and daily life, and in 1967 it adopted the name Christian Life Community. CLC members grow through prayer, reflection, discernment, community sharing, and apostolic service, using Ignatian spirituality to recognize God’s presence and call in their everyday lives. Small communities meet regularly to reflect on their experiences of faith, discern God’s action in their lives, support one another, and respond to the needs of the Church and society. In this way, CLC helps lay faithful become mature Christian disciples who bring Gospel values into their families, professions, communities, and wider society.
