St. Francis Assisi Cathedral, Ernakulam, is the seat (cathedra) of the Archbishop of Verapoly and a well-known center of faith in the heart of the city. Every Saturday, large numbers of faithful gather for the Novena, offering their petitions and thanksgiving to the Mother who never ceases to intercede. Within these sacred walls rests the tomb of Servant of God Archbishop Joseph Attipetty, the first indigenous bishop of the Archdiocese.
