Lourdes Hospital, a premier multi-specialty tertiary care hospital in Ernakulam, has a strong foundation with the best of the state-of-the-art facilities, medical expertise, research and education. It is the first NABH accredited catholic mission hospital in the state of Kerala. Lourdes started voyage in the year 1965 under the aegis of the Archdiocese of Verapoly. It has evolved into a tertiary care referral centre for providing advanced treatment for complex problems which attracts patients not only from all parts of Kerala, but also from the other states and abroad. Lourdes now has 41 established specialities which are growing steadily, headed by highly skilled qualified doctors. We have the best of equipments, manned by trained and dedicated staff. Lourdes is now a full-fledged teaching institution and research centre conducting post graduate medical courses – DNB recognized by the National Board of Examinations in 14 specialities. Lourdes also runs a Nursing College, Nursing School, Paramedical College and Academy of Clinical Training (AHA – International Training Centre). Over half a century, Lourdes has played an important role in serving the under privileged sections of the society and the privileged too are attracted for the excellence in treatment. Lourdes’ Free Out-reach Clinics at 12 centres in Ernakulam offer medical relief to the poor in the remote islands. It was during the 1960’s when the state’s healthcare scenario was doomed in destitute of facilities and expertise, the Archdiocese of Verapoly graced Kerala’s wellness industry with the Lourdes Hospital emphasizing the message Heal with Love. Forty years after successfully venturing into healthcare with their initial establishment, the Archdiocese stepped into another great milestone on the dawn of the millennia. The year 2000 witnessed the rise of the Kristu Jayanti Hospital gifted to the inhabitants of the world’s most populated island Vypin, with the
ultimate motto Professional In Essence and Affordable in Nature.
Despite its humble beginnings today the institute stands tall with its advanced facilities and staff expertise. Though Kristu Jayanti Hospital was initially intended to serve the unprivileged inhabitants of the island, today it serves to be the healing abode for people from different parts of Kerala. It is the rehabilitation centre for patients recovering from substances & non substances addictions. It is equipped with personnel and facilities suited for behavioural rehabilitation of any such cases. The PUNAR JAYANTI rehabilitation centre functions under the Lourdes Institute of Behavioural Sciences (LIBS).

Mission Hospital is a charitable institution managed by the sisters of the Congregation of Teresian Carmelites,a Third Order Carmelite Congregation and is Pontifical, erected and rooted in India since 1866. Our mission field is extended to different sections like; education, health care, family apostolate, home for aged and disabled, counseling, de-addiction work, prison ministry, evangelization works, creation of job for the helpless youth through social work and cottage industry.
P.S. Mission Hospital was started on 11th February 1961 as Perpetual Succour clinic in Maradu village in Cochin, Kerala, India. Over the years, keeping pace with the developments in modern medicine, it has grown into a 100 bedded multi-super specialty Hospital, catering to the needs of the patient population from all walks of life especially the poor and the needy. The hospital comes under the Archdiocese of Verapoly (Latin Archdiocese in Kerala). The hospital has major specialty and super specialty departments and 24 hours of emergency and accident unit.
